Cabinets, Tables, and Desks in the Making
A Mystery in the Making
“I can’t imagine how these guys made the exquisite furniture they did centuries ago without the use of electrically powered machines and carbide steel!
The great irony is that they made it better back then than guys like me can make it today WITH electric tools! They had to be aliens. Woodworker aliens! And though the craft never was or is rocket science, even today, a really good piece of furniture always emits a “mystery of the making.” That’s what makes it good if you can’t tell how it was made.
Maybe I’m ratting myself out revealing a few visual secrets about how the Bat Table and other pieces were put together. Figure it out. But if you can’t, I’d appreciate it if someday, somebody might regard me as an alien, too! That’s my goal.John C. Jackson
