John C. Jackson is a sculptor/woodworker who lives and works in his studio in northern Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Since 1981 he has concentrated his creative efforts almost solely on sculpting images of the great whales of the world giving great care to anatomical accuracy and proportion, John carves and finishes each piece by hand, and each is a one-of-a-kind work of art.
As a full-time “whale artist,” he is passionate about the preservation of the species. “I will do all I can to draw attention to the beauty and significance of whales and sea creatures!” he says, “in hopes that man will someday stop his exploitation of these harmless animals and appreciate the important link they occupy in the chain of life.”
